Several public facilities to be built at Khujand International Airport

A sewing workshop, a restaurant, a canteen and a hotel will be built to mark the 35th anniversary of independence of Tajikistan.

On January 5, Sughd Region Head Rajabboy Ahmadzoda visited the Khujand International Airport to inspect the progress of construction works on several facilities: a sewing workshop, a restaurant, a canteen and a hotel, which are designed to improve the quality of passenger services, the press office of the regional administration reported to CentralAsia.news.

It was noted that construction activity at the Khujand international air harbour is growing; various facilities are being built and put into operation to mark the 35th anniversary of independence of Tajikistan.

Ahmadzoda was informed that the sewing workshop and the grocery store occupy the one-storey buildings; 40 workers are currently involved in construction works. Many builders on the construction site of the restaurant and canteen with 150 seats are working tirelessly to comply with construction schedule. The canteen will work around the clock, serving not only passengers, but also airport employees.

Together with landscaping and construction works, reconstruction is underway on the five-storey airport hotel, built in 1970. It has 90 rooms and can serve up to 200 visitors. After the hotel is put into operation, it will employ 300 people.
