Tashkent and Astana sign Roadmap for implementation of investment agreements

The document includes 37 contracts for investment and trade partnerships in the energy, transport and agro-industrial sectors.

On December 29, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev and Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin signed a Roadmap for the implementation of investment and trade agreements. This document includes 37 events on investment and trade cooperation in the energy, transport, electrical, chemical, construction, mechanical engineering, pharmaceutical and agro-industrial sectors, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade reported to CentralAsia.news.

The Roadmap adopted by the Deputy Prime Ministers of the two countries envisages taking specific steps to implement the following projects:

— production of phosphate and compound mineral fertilizers in Navoi and Tashkent Regions (Kazphosphate LLP and Uzkimyosanoat JSC);

— long-term provision of fuel needs to 3 new coal-fired thermal power plants with the capacity of up to 2 GW in Samarkand, Tashkent and Fergana Regions, with coal from the Shubarkul field;

— construction of housing, social and commercial infrastructure in Tashkent in cooperation with BI Group;

— production of Chevrolet Onix cars jointly with Allur Group of Companies JSC in Kazakhstan;

— production of Artel household appliances in Karaganda Region;

— launch of production of ceramic tiles in Shymkent;

— supplies of early potatoes, meat, meat products, fruits and vegetables.
