Indian conglomerate to implement major investment projects in Kazakhstan

The President noted that Kazakhstan intends to diversify the development of transport routes

On December 13, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has received Chairman of the largest multinational conglomerate in India Adani Group Gautam Adani. The lively dialogue focused on the prospects for implementing far-reaching and strategic investment plans, the press office of Akorda reported to CentralAsia.news. 

The Kazakh leader positively evaluated the projects offered by the Indian multinational conglomerate on the improvement and modernization of regional transport infrastructure. 

Emphasising that at the current stage, Kazakhstan intends to speed up the development of the transport network, the President noted that the main efforts are concentrated on the progressive expansion of the functions of the Trans-Caspian transnational transport route.

The Indian businessman told the President about the company’s interest in enhancing constructive cooperation with Kazakhstan in other important sectors of the economy as well. The power, green technologies and petrochemical sectors were mentioned as most in demand.

Adani Group is the third Indian conglomerate to cross US$200 billion in market capitalization. Now, the company is a key player in the main economic sectors. These include natural resources exploration and development, marine terminal management, multimodal logistics and electric power generation.
