China to submit feasibility study of railway project to Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan

The President and the Vice Premier exchanged views on key aspects of further cooperation.

On December 8, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov received Vice Premier of the State Council of China Hu Chunhua, who arrived in Bishkek to attend a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. The interlocutors discussed the prospects for promoting bilateral cooperation in various areas, including politics, trade, economy and culture, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

Japarov mentioned the ambitious transport project of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway launched by the three countries as an example of successful cooperation.

The Kyrgyz side expressed its readiness to expand bilateral cooperation in current and promising areas of bilateral relations.

The Chinese side reported that a group of Chinese specialists had completed field work under the railway project and would soon submit a feasibility study to the Kyrgyz and Uzbek sides for review.

Beijing hopes that the three countries will actively promote the railway project, thus facilitating uninterrupted trade and economic interaction among the countries.
