A regular container transport will be organized between Turkmenistan and Russia. Azat Atamuradov, head of the Railways Agency of Turkmenistan, and Oleg Belozerov, head of the board of JSC Russian Railways, signed the Cooperation Development Program for 2023–2025. It was reported by the press office of the Russian company on Telegram.
The program regulates the interaction of the two countries in the development of transportation and logistics services along the eastern route of the international transport corridor «North-South». In addition, the document provides for the launch of a block train, which will ensure the minimum delivery time for agricultural products, raw materials and industrial goods between Turkmenistan and Russia.
The program will also promote the development of bilateral cooperation in digital technologies, personnel training, construction, modernization and reconstruction of railway infrastructure. In addition, the document provides for the possibility of opening the office of the Railways Agency of Turkmenistan in Russia and the office of the JSC Russian Railways in Turkmenistan.
