The Uzbekistan men’s and women’s freestyle wrestling championships has ended in the capital of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Nukus. Both young athletes and prize-winners of the world championships and the Olympic Games performed at the tournament, the UzA News Agency reported.
The winners in the men’s tournament include the experienced athletes – Gulomjon Abdullayev, Umidjon Jalolov, Zafar Otakhonov and Bobur Islomov. The debutants of the republican championships – Nodirjon Safarov, Ilyas Bekpulatov, Arslonbek Dzhumaboev, Adzhiniez Saparniezov and Sardor Kholmatov won medals in their weight categories.
The women competed in ten weight categories. 100 girls performed at the championships. The winners and prize-winners are Mushtarii Tolipbekova, Jasmina Immaeva, Dilshoda Matnazarova, Shohida Akhmedova, Laylo Sobirova, Rukhshona Abdurasulova, Dilfuza Ayimbetova, Feruza Esenbaeva, Mardona Kadamova and Ozoda Zaripboeva.
The best athletes received medals and valuable gifts. The championships in Karakalpakstan will be some kind of ticket of the best wrestlers to the Asian Championships and the Asian Games.
