The high-tech Nuclear Medicine Centre will be put into operation in the capital of Kazakhstan in September. On August 15, President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev inspected the progress of pre-launch operations at the innovative medical site, the press office of Akorda reported.
The new Centre, together with the medical diagnostic unit, was built on “the map” of the medical cluster of the Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Centre will let health professionals detect hard-to-diagnose oncological diseases, cardiovascular diseases and neurological disorders at an early stage and make it much easier for patients to undergo a physical examination.
The potential of the new clinic will be available to all citizens of the country who have a doctor’s referral.
The unique element of the diagnostic department is a positron emission tomography (PET) scanner. Its technical specifications are based on the high-speed scanning technology and the most effective diagnostic technology. These advantages will help increase the number of patients from 3,000 to 7,000 per year. Experts noted that there are no such systems in the Central Asia countries and the CIS so far.
Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev inspected other innovations at the Centre and talked to the research and medical staff.
