Turkmenistan receives medicines for treatment of non-communicable diseases

The drugs were received as part of a UNDP project, fully funded by the government of the country.

Another batch of medicines for the treatment of non-communicable diseases was delivered to Turkmenistan within the framework of the United Nations Development Program project. The process was implemented at the expense of the state. It was reported by the UNDP press office.

The total cost of the project is 32.8 million US dollars. The money for its implementation is fully allocated by the government of Turkmenistan.

According to the country’s law on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, the main types of relevant diseases include cardiovascular diseases (coronary heart disease, arterial hypertension, stroke), cancer (dangerous neoplasms), obstructive pulmonary disease (bronchial asthma) and diabetes mellitus.

In March this year, within the joint project of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and UNDP, the Central Asian country received BECLO-ASMA, Buto-asma and ATROALDO. These are the medicines for the treatment of chronic respiratory diseases.
