Turkmenistan to spare no expense to fight COVID-19

The statement was made by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the working meeting.

On January 10, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held the first working meeting this year. Sapardurdy Toyliyev, the deputy head of the Cabinet of Ministers and the head of the Emergency commission for combating the spread of diseases, reported to the leader of the country on the work within the fight against the pandemic, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».

Berdimuhamedov said that today the local authorities do everything necessary to protect the health of citizens. According to him, the state will spare no expense to replenish the reserve stock of drugs as part of the prevention of COVID-19 infection.

Toyliyev noted that the government makes important decisions in order to prevent the spread of the «Omicron» variant in the country. The work of medical institutions is improved, the exchange of experience of local staff with foreign specialists is expanding, cooperation with WHO is strengthened, and vaccines are purchased.

On October 15, 2021, at the meeting of the Council Heads of State of the CIS, Berdimuhamedov proposed to expand study of coronavirus disease, as well as to develop and implement new methods of treatment of the infection.
